   On April 15, 2024, Robert Rousseau, an inmate from Archambault Institution, died while in our custody of apparent natural causes.

9. Government of Canada announces support for innovative solutions to address labour challenges in the agriculture and agri-food sector

   Today, Élisabeth Brière, Member of Parliament for Sherbrooke and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Families, Children and Social Development and to the Minister of Mental Health and Addictions and Associate Minister of Health, on behalf of the Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, announced the 5 projects that will receive up to $1 million in funding each under Phase 2 of the Innovative Solutions Canada (ISC) program – Challenge Stream. The announcement was made at Exonetik Inc., one of the Phase 2 winners.

    Today, the Honourable Mark Holland, Canada’s Minister of Health, announced the signing of two bilateral agreements to invest more than $3.7 billion in federal funding to improve health care in Quebec. These agreements represent the first funding under the government's commitment to invest $6.7 billion in Quebec over a ten-year period.

    The governments of Canada and Quebec are granting a total of over $3.5 million in financial assistance to Céréales Normandin to support the valorization of all grains processed at its conventional and organic grains centre in Normandin, in the Saguenay–Lac‑Saint‑Jean region.
